The 2016 Secco-Bertani Original Vintage Edition presents a dark, rich display plums, cherries and brown spice. It's silky in feel with polished black fruits and a slight pepper twang, as fine tannins mount toward the close. This feels a bit lean through the finale, yet it's balanced all the same, resonating on citrus-tinged blackberries. The 2016 is a blend of 80% Corvina clones (Rizza, Nera, and Corvinone), balanced by a mix of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Syrah.

An elegant version, well-knit and light- to medium-bodied, with light, crisp tannins and iron-laced underpinning framing flavors of crushed wild cherry and raspberry, dried thyme and a hint of Mandarin orange peel. Drink now through 2024.
