Prepare to be dazzled by this wine, with its harmonious integration of decadent fruit, refined structure, and exotic spice components. In the glass, the wine possesses a dark plum-purple hue. Intriguing aromatic notes of Mexican chocolate, nutmeg, brambly fruit, spearmint, and violets swell from the glass in concert. Upon entry, the mouthfeel is voluptuous, sleek, and inviting, while also exhibiting a silky tannin profile to provide a complex framework. Rich palate notes suggest black currant, blackberry reduction, leather, crushed rock, and allspice. This wine is very enjoyable and showing well today, but with 3-5 years in the cellar it will develop into an even more beautiful expression of the vintage.

A Schrader-related wine made by Thomas Rivers Brown, this 100% varietal wine is a showcase of the appellation, wide in appeal and bold, ripe red fruit. Sage, tar, cedar and pencil provide varietal complexity and contrast to the fruit; the tannins are integrated yet still grippy. Enjoy best from 2028-2038.

This has a rounded, fleshy feel to the mix of creamed plum and cassis flavors. Light flashes of sassafras and loam provide that Oakville hint, while the fruit holds sway overall. Drink now through 2024. 9,000 cases made.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Double Diamond is a new label, made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French oak, 50% new, for 16 months. Around 80% of the fruit was sourced from To Kalon vineyard. It is deep garnet-purple in color, springing from the glass with notes of crushed black cherries, warm cassis, wild blueberries and chocolate mint, plus a waft of dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is packed with juicy black fruits, framed by plush tannins and a lively backbone, finishing long and spicy. 9,000 cases were made.
