There are 55,000 bottles of the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru du Château, a medium to full-bodied, velvety wine evocative of cherries, smoky plums, spices and dark chocolate. Charming and perfumed, it's an elegant wine that gets my nod as the finest Beaune du Château for some time.

The 2019 Beaune du Château ler Cru offers black cherries, mulberry and light undergrowth scents on the nose, which is broody and backward at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense tannins. Fine salinity, but missing a little grace and just a bit disjointed on the finish. Needs to lighten up.
